Michael Schur was inspired to create “Inside Man” after watching the Chilean documentary “Agent Mole”
Tale
Charles, a pensioner, gets a new lease of life when he answers an ad for a private detective and becomes a mole in a secret investigation at a nursing home. He says: “The documentary ‘Agent Mole’ is powerful because it makes people feel something amazingly similar regardless of age, ethnicity or gender, and I would describe that feeling very simply as ‘I need to call my mum.’ In our show, we tried to do the same with the tone: in principle, does our show contribute to this feeling, making us want to call our moms?
Remake of El agente topo (2020)
I am 67 years old and it was so great to see so many actors of our generation and their great comedic styles. These actors only get better with age and are perfect for this cute comedy series!
This is normal, because you already know about the middle, who is the culprit
The script gets a little lost trying to solve the mystery and gets deeper with the character storylines. You don’t care that it’s not really a secret, because you’re just having fun watching these golden oldies work and show off their skills.
Actually, it’s not a secret
Just a tribute to how brave it is to be a senior citizen and still be active and feel noticed in our youth-oriented society. What a sweet tribute to those who support and help us navigate the minefields of aging this series was.
