Eventually, Goldstein talked to Ford and convinced him to take the part
When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel, and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford to join the show, Segel said that Goldstein originally wanted someone in the “Harrison Ford” mold and intended to audition people who looked like Ford. Segel told Goldstein that they had to at least pitch it to Ford first, thinking he would reject it outright, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford had been approached for the project, which had piqued the interest of other big-name actors.
Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince him, but he was overjoyed nonetheless
Featured on WatchMojo: Top 10 TV Shows of 2023 (So Far) (2023) I’ve watched the first two episodes and found them compelling. Partly because I found it to be grounded in reality, about a therapist who needs therapy and wants to get through to his patients in order to unexpectedly overcome his own issues.
The show isn’t for everyone
I also respect the way it’s presented – he’s not doing something that other therapists are supposed to do, and that’s pretty clear. He hasn’t gotten into the goofy situations of other shows like Loot, but it’s still early in the series and I’ll keep watching.
That said, I like the depth of the characters, and they don’t feel like caricatures; they’re people I’d like to get to know
